An example of the ‘classic’ Local Hobby Shop (LHS), family owned & operated Denbigh Hobby Center is located in Newport News, VA and has been in continuous operation since 1976. Located in a corner storefront nearby to the Big Lots at the Warwick-Denbigh Shopping Center (sited at the southwest corner of Warwick & Denbigh Boulevards), DHC specializes in plastic model kits but also has a goodly selection of model railroading supplies. The range of plastic model kits encompass both the latest releases and older, hard-to-kind kits. Proprietor Dan carries modeling magazines & books, a full range of modeling paints, glues and tools as well as the best selection of Evergreen Plastic stock in the region. Plastic kits offered include all scales of aircraft, ships, cars, armor, ‘real space’ & science fiction subjects. Kits suitable for beginners or the master craftsman are available with a limited selection of wood ship models also available. Limited online sales are offered via phone or email communication, or on eBay.
Building on his vast experience with plastic model kits, Dan offers a one-stop shop for the plastic model builder. (Store contact & hours info is at bottom.)
